AB RE is a groundbreaking Belgrade-based band, blending theatrical jazz and Balkan folk motifs to create a distinctive sound they’ve dubbed “jazz in opposition.” With a musical journey that began in 2000, AB RE's live performances are at the heart of their creative expression. Their genre-defying style combines rock, jazz, folk, and world music, earning them praise from critics across various scenes. They have released two studio albums so far: More napeto in 2020 and Aber in 2023.
Their name, "AB RE," reflects their philosophy of creating music "without reason"—a commitment to the art itself rather than fitting into a specific genre. Their music reflects the duality of Balkan folk traditions and the complexity of jazz, while embracing modern rock and pop influences.
